This page explains what happens to your files and information when you use PubFileConverter. The service is run by Ahmet Hakan Yıldız (trading as H For Fun), Türkiye ("we"). Questions: contact@pubfileconverter.com.
Your files
- We use the files you upload only to make your PDFs and the watermarked previews.
- Everything is deleted 24 hours after you upload it: your .pub files, the PDFs, the previews and the zip download. The file names are removed from our records at the same time.
- Nobody looks at your files, and we never share them, sell them, or use them to train anything.
- To improve conversion quality we keep a few facts about each file after deletion, with no file name or content: the Publisher version, the number of pages, which fonts it asked for, whether it converted, and your "Looks right?" answer.
Your e-mail address
We ask for your e-mail address only when you download, to send you a sign-in link and the download link, and to keep track of your free files and credits. We don't send newsletters or marketing. We keep it, with your credit balance and purchase history, until you ask us to delete it.

Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages help people and where they get stuck, for example how many uploads finish or how many people answer "Looks right?". We send no file names or file contents. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked first, and analytics stays off unless they allow it. We run no ads and ad features are switched off.

Who helps us run the service

Some of these providers are in the United States or process data there (Polar, Resend, Google, Cloudflare), so your information may be transferred outside the European Economic Area, the UK and Türkiye. We rely on the safeguards these providers offer for such transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where they take part in it.
How long we keep things
- Uploaded files, PDFs, previews and download zips: 24 hours after upload.
- Sign-in links: until they expire (15 minutes), deleted a day later. Sign-in sessions: 30 days.
- Your e-mail address, credit balance and purchase history: until you ask us to delete them, except purchase records we must keep for tax and accounting.
- Database backups: 14 days, so a deleted account fully disappears from backups within 14 days.
Security and abuse prevention
Files are converted on a server that has no internet access of its own. To stop abuse of the free files we briefly use your IP address to limit how many uploads and sign-in e-mails can be requested per hour; it isn't stored with your files.
Children
The service is not meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format, by writing to contact@pubfileconverter.com. We answer within 30 days. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
If you are in Türkiye, you have the rights listed in Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), and you can apply to us at the address above. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
